Low Pay Unit
The Low Pay Unit was set up in 1974 to campaign for economic and social justice. During its 25 year history, the Unit has campaigned to end low pay and poverty and to make sure that these issues are not neglected or forgotten by the government of the day and other key decision makers.
New Ways to Work
New Ways to Work campaigns and provides expertise on new and flexible ways of working that help people, organisations and society achieve a balance between work and the rest of life. Our aim is a society whose working culture gives real freedom of choice to people who cannot or do not wish to work traditional patterns.
Professional associations
Women who belong to professional associations may also find that their association offers `keeping-in-touch` facilities enabling updating of skills and a smoother return to work. If you are a member of a professional association, enquire whether it has any facilities to assist members on a career break, and if not, why not?
