'Value children, value childcare' will be the theme for this year's National Childcare Week, organised by Daycare Trust as part of National Sure Start Month in June. National Childcare Week will run from 14-20 June and will focus on what makes quality childcare and how this benefits children. Activities for the week include:
- A children's aret competition, 'What I like best about my childcare' , run with Nursery World magazine.
- A MORI poll on hwat parents and public think about quality childcare and early years services.
- A quality Childcare Charter for parents and childcare providers.
- 'Starting Early', a conference on building childcare into regeneration schemes with the British Urban Regeneration Association (NURA) on 15th June.
- A new policy report on quality childcare and early years services.
- 'Childcare Champrions' award recognising parents who have campaigned for childcare.
